Do you have a minute for Community Pride?
First, on behalf of Tombstone AZ and the Old City Hall Restoration project THANK YOU to Randy Bays (our City Attorney) and his Mom & Dad (Patricia & George) for the $5000 donation toward the Old City Hall Restoration. They donated by check so it does not show up on the total at www.gofundme.com/preservetombstone page.
Sadly, the number of LOCAL donations for the Old City Hall Restoration have been extremely low. It is important that WE, as members of the Chamber of Commerce, show our unified support to entire Community by either donating as individual or through our business(es). And then individually we can feel comfortable asking others to support this effort monetarily. It is difficult to say you support the effort if you haven’t donated yourself.
So please take a moment to make a donation at your financial comfort level. www.gofundme.com/preservetombstone The donation itself shows your commitment to the project. That is critically important to the success of the project.
It is understood that not everyone can make a large donation.
Though probably the majority of people can make a $25 or $50 donation. Which that is the message that our community needs to grab a hold of and get on board with!!!! EVERYONE CAN PARTICIPATE AND MAKE A DIFFERENCE.
Also – please share the campaign and talk it up with others. This is an important project for Tombstone and truly will benefit the entire community.
It may be difficult to understand how the restoration of the Old City Hall can benefit your business or the community.
Let’s see how historical restoration of a building can benefit Tombstone Arizona:
- Tourism (particularly heritage tourism)
- Economic development
- Community Pride
- And… to maintain the buildings place on the National Register of Historic Places
- And… to maintain Tombstone’s standing on the National Historic District registry.
The last two listings come with a level of responsibility BY ALL OF US to maintain and preserve our historical community.
